One Time Classes

In a one-time class, students will meet with the teacher for one session for 60 minutes over video chat. This is great if your teen is eager to explore nutrition as an interest.

Meal Planning for Vegans/Vegetarians

This 60-minute class will teach learners how to meal plan on a vegan/vegetarian diet and to ensure they are meeting all nutritional requirements.

Nutrition Basics: Macronutrients

The Nutrition Basics: Macronutrients lesson will introduce and explain the three most calorie-dense foods-- fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.

Nutrition Basics: Micronutrients

This lesson will give students a basic understanding of each essential vitamin and mineral, the importance of them, and their food sources.

Multi Day Classes

In multi-day classes, students will meet with the teacher multiple day(s) per week at scheduled times over video chat. This is great for students for interacting with diverse classmates from other states and countries. Our Multi-Day Classes are usually 4-12 weeks long.

Introduction to Food Science and Food Technology for Teens (With Labs)

Why is it important that you eat your vegetables? How does mold grow on bread? In this course, students will take on the role as food scientists and learn about our foods and technology used in manufacturing and preserving food

Flexible Schedule Classes

In a Flexible schedule course, there are no live video chats. The course content is uploaded to the classroom forum. Students are able to interact with the teacher and other students enrolled in the classroom forum. This is great if your student prefers independent pacing or is uncomfortable with live video chat. Our flexible classes usually are 4-12 weeks long.

Fundamentals of Sports Nutrition and Fitness for Teens

In this 12 week flex class, learners will develop the skills that can help them create and manage a nutrition protocol suited for their athletic performance

Introduction to Bodybuilding

Students will learn how to build a better-looking body with proper training and nutrition principles

Cooking Classes

Preteens will learn where specific ingredients come from, follow a recipe and utilize new techniques, and work to prepare a favorite meal. We teach how to mix and measure, properly use a knife, and how to safely use appliances. Participants will receive take-home recipes to recreate the meal and hone their new cooking skills. Learners can earn their Girl Scouts: Brownie Snacks Badge or Juniors Simple Meal Plan with HKNA.  

Cooking Class: Let's Learn About Food for Teens

In this ongoing class, students will learn one food from the 5 food groups (fruits, dairy, meats, vegetables, proteins) and be able to make a healthy and delicious recipe with the teacher.

Healthy Snacking for Teens

Join our chef and registered dietitian to learn how to make some delicious and healthy snacks!

Cooking Techniques: Knife Skills Workshop

Learn basic skills from our Red Seal Chef, such as slicing, dicing, chopping, and mincing through hands-on practice with your sharpened knives
